Answers

Skype provide a good service, which is similar to VoIP, however there are quite a few areas where our services differ.
Firstly price. In most cases, our prices are lower than Skype and where they are not the difference is so small as to be insignificant. We levy no call set up charges and we bill calls by the second not the minute.
Next comes our support, we offer local support in local language provided by local people not some automated computer system.
Finally the scope of our services. Our inherent flexibility allows us to offer a wide range of services, which are tailored to our customer. Be it a functional, technical, invoicing or a payment method issue we can offer alternatives – we are not a “one size fits all” service we listen to our customers and aim provide them with the services they require.

This depends on the destination you are calling and whether it is to a land line or Mobile phone. We currently have over 3000 unique destinations that you are able to call to. By using local partners we believe our customers are better served, they are able to deal with problems in their own language and our local partners better understand logistics, product availability general market conditions.

We did go through some big debates on this, we actually buy routes in Euro's, Pounds Sterling and US Dollars. The bottom line is that we believe, for our customer base, the Euro represents the largest common denominator. We do offer other methods of payments though, presently we are able to accept payments in Turkish Lira, US Dollars, UK Pounds and of course Euro and we base all our currency exchange calculations on the daily xe rates. Should you wish to pay in a currency other than the above, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

Sound quality is the combined result of the type of equipment you use to connect to our service (Soft Phone or ATA) and the Quality of your internet connection. Because of this we only recommend Software phones and ATA devices which we have tested and know to have good performance. We also take precautions against the effects of poor quality internet connections, by monitoring our connections and modifying our routings we are able to minimise the time delays between our servers in London and our customers location to maintain a highest possible quality of connection.

There are a number of ways you can connect to us or receive calls from us; this all depends on your individual needs. The simplest method is to use a computer and Software Phone application with a headset. It is also possible to connect using an Analogue Telephone Adaptor (ATA) this device has the advantage of allowing you to make and receive calls without needing a Computer. An ATA can also be integrated with your company PBX, allowing everybody in your office to make outgoing calls from their internal desktop extension making it an ideal device for SoHo and SME businesses. We also offer Geographical Numbers which can be used by your customers to reach you. Please contact us and we will be happy to explain these options and services with you and how they may be deployed to suit your particular requirements.

Simply this is the telephone number that people use to call you. The neat thing is that the number does not have to be tied to your physical location. You can for example live in Turkey and have a "Geographic Number" which is in London. Your customers or friends can then call your London number at a local rate and we will rout that call to you directly in Turkey or wherever you happen to be in the world. You can think of this as your global “Virtual Office.

We are able to offer Geographic numbers in many different countries, however the fact is that as of today, there is no "standard" global pricing for them, each county decides on the value and the currency to be charged. The value ranges from 3 to 20 Euro's per month per number so because of this we offer a free of charge "quotation service" to any of our customers requiring a Geographic number. Simply call us or mail us detailing:

  • The Country you would like the number to be (0044 for UK - 0049 for Germany - 00972 for Israel + etc)
  • The area code you prefer. Note: Not all area codes may be available so please provide alternatives
  • The period you require the number for (Contract periods vary from 3 months to 1 year)

On receipt of this information we will search out the best provider and reply to you quoting the Set Up costs, Monthly charges and contractual conditions for your number.

Note: We are capable of connecting more than 1 Geographic Number to the same Business Unity account so if you need a number in the US and (say) Japan this can be easily accommodated.

If you are away from your office or traveling, you need never miss a call. Every Business Unity account includes a free Voice Mail service, the settings for this can be modified from the "Voice Mail" link after you have logged into the platform. Any messages collected by this service will be e-mailed to you as a file for your review. Alternatively, we can also arrange a call forwarding service so that calls can be received on (say) your mobile phone should you wish.

We have a number of ways to pay for the calls you make.
The first option is to use the PayPal money transfer system. Simply click on the PayPal Payment button after you have logged in and you will be redirected to the PayPal website. Please note that this transaction takes place between PayPal and yourself, we at Business Unity never store or see your Credit Card Details. After the Transaction is complete, we receive a notification from PayPal advising us which Businessunity account should be credited and with what amount and our systems pick this up automatically. But please note we have noticed that it can take 1 or 2 hours for us to receive the notification.

A second option is to pay into our local Garanti Bank account, or our UK National Westminster Account, the details are below. We set these up especially for our Commercial customers, but everybody is free to use it. The drawback here is both the Garanti and Nat West accounts do not Automatically credit your Business Unity account so this is a manual process we operate. This is easily solved though simply drop us an e-mail after you have made the transfer and that way we will know to check and credit your account with the right amount.

You are always able to check all your call records after logging into our platform
From the drop down menu simply select the month for the records you require and the information will appear.
Should you need a hard copy for your company records, we provide these from our UK offices.
If you require invoices in languages other than English, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

This is not a yes or no question.
We have over 3000 different national destinations which you can connect to through our system - so a Telecom Line is not needed to call to any of these places.
For legal reasons, we are not allowed to route Emergency service calls in any country - so to make emergency calls a Telecom line is necessary.
However these are academic points when you consider that in most cases you will need a line from a Telecom provider for your Broadband Internet Connection anyhow.

So the answer is we do not aim to replace your existing Telephone line, what we offer is a better way (cheaper) for you to call out and an easier way for your customers, family and friends to reach you.
